Camp Royall, owned and operated by the Autism Society of North Carolina, offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and adults with autism while gaining invaluable hands-on experience and
As a Camp Royall Counselor, you will:
  • Create a safe, fun, and supportive environment for campers to learn, grow, and thrive.
  • Assist campers in all aspects of personal care, including dressing, bathing, grooming, eating, and toileting.
  • Gain specialized training and experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum.
  • Lead and participate in activities that foster learning, independence, and fun.
  • Work closely with fellow staff members to ensure an enriching and positive camp experience.
  • Be part of a passionate, dedicated team making a lasting impact.

We provide Comprehensive Training (May 19 - May 29, 2026). Those unable to attend training, still encouraged to apply!
Applicant must be 18+ years of age and have a high school degree.
Be available to work overnight Sundays- Fridays during camp weeks
Salary: $350-$500 weekly (depending on experience) + housing and board.
Summer 2026 Schedule:
  • Staff Training: May 19 - May 29, 2026
  • First Half of Summer (4 weeks): May 31 - June 26, 2026
  • Vacation Week: June 29 - July 3, 2026
  • Second Half of Summer (5 weeks): July 5 - August 7, 2026
  • End-of-Summer Celebration: August 8, 2026
  • Adult Retreat: August 9- August 14, 2026
