About the Position: Serves as Chief, Operations Support Branch supervising and providing direction to the Project Support and Natural Resource Sections which provide technical support to 6 operating projects and the District communications systems supporting these projects; and the Dredged Materials Management Office (DMMO) which is responsible for evaluating dredged material for Corps navigation projects.Qualifications:Who May Apply: Only applicants who meet one of the employment authority categories below are eligible to apply for this job. In addition to meeting at least one of the basic requirements above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in one of the following areas: ((1) Supporting the operations and maintenance of a major water storage facility/dam to include work such as designing, repairing or maintaining of mechanical and/or electrical systems and related features; OR (2) Planning and developing program goals and objectives and executing in support of Federal navigation projects or technical operations such as hydropower and flood control operations, natural resources/environmental compliance, emergency management; or contract administration; OR (3) Ensure compliance with laws, regulations and agency policies and directives in the areas of emergency management, water management, channel and harbor maintenance, natural resource management, and/or sediment cleanup and disposal.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
