Job description

Who We Are
2K is headquartered in Novato, California and is a wholly owned label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO). Founded in 2005, 2K Games is a global video game company, publishing titles developed by some of the most influential game development studios in the world. Our studios responsible for developing 2K's portfolio of world-class games across multiple platforms, include Visual Concepts, Firaxis, Hangar 13, CatDaddy, Cloud Chamber, 31st Union, and HB Studios. Our portfolio of titles is expanding due to our global strategic plan, building and acquiring exciting studios whose content continues to inspire all of us! 2K publishes titles in today's most popular gaming genres, including sports, shooters, action, role-playing, strategy, casual, and family entertainment.
Our team of engineers, marketers, artists, writers, data scientists, producers, thinkers and doers, are the professional publishing stewards of our growing library of critically-acclaimed franchises such as NBA 2K, 2K PGA, Battleborn, BioShock, Borderlands, The Quarry, The Darkness, Mafia, Sid Meier's Civilization, Marvel's Midnight Suns, WWE 2K, and XCOM.
At 2K, we pride ourselves on creating an inclusive work environment, which means encouraging our teams to Come as You Are and do your best work! We encourage ALL applicants to explore our global positions, even if they don't meet every requirement for the role. If you're interested in the job and think you have what it takes to work at 2K, we encourage you to apply!
What We Need
We're looking for a highly analytical and strategic thinker to join our team as a Manager, Commercial Strategy. In this role, you'll help define the strategy behind how our games are launched, monetized, and supported over time. This is a 0-to-1 role. You won't be inheriting a mature P&L and tuning it at the margins, instead you'll be defining the commercial model from the ground up: designing the monetization framework, building the forecasting models, standing up the KPIs and dashboards, and partnering closely with product and design as we move between development milestones toward a global launch and ongoing live operations. If you're the kind of person who enjoys diving into data, building business cases, and translating insights into clear, actionable plans, then this is a great opportunity!
You'll sit at the intersection of product, design, marketing, data analytics, and finance, and you'll be the person who connects the dots between "what's good for the player" to "what's good for the business."
What You Will Do
  • Modeling & Business Case Development: Build and maintain Excel-based financial and strategic models to support business cases, investment decisions, and scenario planning
  • KPI Frameworks & Forecasting: Create and deliver forecast and reporting packages, showcasing key business metrics and financial results, to the broader Business Unit leadership teams
  • Continuously refine the free-to-play monetization framework, including virtual currency, battle/season pass, cosmetics, bundles, offers, etc.
  • Define and maintain the monetization roadmap in partnership with product and design, always balancing revenue against player experience, fairness, and long-term retention
  • Stand up commercial reporting and dashboards in partnership with the data / analytics team so the business has a single source of truth
  • Live Services P&L Support: Develop a clear understanding of the drivers behind a live services P&L. Interpret weekly business performance, identifying trends and levers that can be pulled to optimize player engagement and profitability
  • Market & Competitive Analysis: Maintain a clear view of the F2P / live-service competitive landscape, including benchmarks, market sizing, and emerging trends. Translate findings into actionable recommendations to inform leadership and support strategic planning
  • Partner with the Product, Marketing & Analytics teams to design and prioritize strategic projects that provide deep commercial insight and inform product and marketing decisions
What Will Make You a Great Fit
  • 4-6+ years of experience in a strategy, finance, consulting, or analytics role, ideally within gaming, entertainment, or a digital consumer business
  • Advanced Excel / financial modeling skills; comfortable building models from scratch
  • Strong understanding of live service game economics and the gaming market landscape
  • Ability to distill complex data into clear narratives and recommendations for senior stakeholders
  • Experience collaborating with data teams and familiarity with data tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Looker) is a plus
  • You're intellectually curious: you enjoy asking why, digging into the details, and connecting dots others might miss.
  • You're comfortable working in gray areas: ambiguity doesn't throw you off; in fact, you enjoy bringing structure to messy or open-ended problems.
  • You know how to manage up: you're proactive in keeping stakeholders informed, setting expectations, and getting buy-in from senior leaders.
