Job description

Description:

KC Fab LLC is seeking an experienced Iron Worker to become an integral part of our team! We perform a variety of welding techniques such as: Stick and MIG. Our jobs include everything from residential handrail to structural beams. We're looking for someone with hands on experience as an Iron Worker with welding and fabrication as well as blueprint reading. We need someone that is interested in helping the company grow while also keeping safety and quality a top priority.

Duties:
- Assemble and install iron or steel girders, columns, and other structural components to form buildings and other structures
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and other specifications to determine the layout and dimensions of the structure
- Layout, cut and weld using hand tools, welding equipment, and machinery
- Install metal decking and cladding systems
- Install ornamental ironwork such as railings and staircases
- Perform rigging operations to lift and position heavy materials

Requirements:

Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an ironworker IS A MUST!!
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Knowledge of different types of metals and their properties
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in the construction industry/ OSHA
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that require bending, lifting heavy objects, working at heights, and standing for long periods of time

- Forethought, knowing the next steps before you get there
- Critical thinking, time management AND self-motivated
- The ability to be self-aware and aware of your surroundings
- Blueprint reading for understanding project specifications
