Material Handler I

From inventory control and stockroom management to kitting, expediting, and overseeing shipping and receiving operations, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless logistics in alignment with established procedures. What You Will Do:

  • Efficiently operate a variety of material handling and packaging equipment.
  • Accurately identify parts, components, wires, and other materials using part markings, color codes, and container labels.
  • Follow desktop instructions, parts lists, forms, and other work instructions to complete tasks precisely.
  • Perform bulk counting using scales and tape & reel counters.
  • Fulfill orders according to Bill of Material (BOM) requirements.
  • Package parts appropriately to prevent damage, adhering to proper material handling and packaging techniques.
  • Store, shelve, and place inventory correctly following established procedures.
  • Utilize computer systems and printers for recording inventory transactions, generating labels, and labor charging.
  • Conduct cycle counts and meticulously record results.
  • Track materials both physically and within systems.
  • Package and ship materials following specific shipping instructions.
  • Distribute materials to various internal plant locations.
  • Build and break down boxes for various uses.
  • Collect and dispose of materials correctly.
  • Maintain adequate levels of packaging supplies and replenish as needed.
  • Recognize and address inventory discrepancies and work area issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including cycle counts and labor charging.
  • Train other employees and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline
