Job description

General Summary:
We are looking for a skilled handbag Associate Designer to work on our Steve Madden Handbag team!
Major Responsibilities:
  • Fast and efficient knowledge in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Email and communicate directly with factories on development and our teams overseas to source new materials
  • Attend trade shows, shop retail and research to ensure designs are on trend for our brand and represent our target customer
  • Be able to develop product from start to finish. This includes CAD presentations, print development, and detailed specs
  • Design categories include: handbags, SLGs, diaper bags and weekenders
  • Be responsible for own account and design to target this specific customer while still keeping true to the brand
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines while not compromising design aesthetic

Job Specific Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in CAD
  • Ability to re-design
  • Work Closely with Design Manager

Education, Licenses, Certificates, Registrations and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 years' experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $60,000-$70,000. Ranges are based on various factors such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
