Who You Are:

You are energetic, collaborative, have strong communication and are results driven. You are a prolific designer with a strong fashion sense, trend awareness, and industry knowledge of footwear.

What You'll Do:

  • Understand the Michael Kors aesthetic and translate it into appropriate product.

  • Partner alongside the Senior Design Director for entire product design process including market research, mood board creation, designing of styles and shoe constructions

  • Create Technical spec Packages for factories for initial lead constructions, technical awareness for prototypes correction and market samples fit reviews.

  • Provides recommendations regarding seasonal themes, edits to line, new concepts, trends, material novelties and logo treatments evolution

  • Provides insight regarding style of product during presentation.

  • Ensures that product is consistent with market trends as well as business strategy; interprets

  • international/domestic concepts and fashion trends as it relates to market demands, company image and business strategy.

  • Participate with team members on hardware conception and material research

  • Detail and cad for market samples

  • Partners with handbag designers to achieve consistency in product.

  • Meets independently with vendors.

  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement.

You'll Need to Have:

  • 5+ years of design experience within accessories

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accessories or Footwear Design or a related field

  • Expert design and conceptual skills for footwear

  • Skills to multitask and manage competing calendar deadlines

  • Ability to work in a high volume and fast paced environment

  • Well rounded creative skills and sense of fashion

  • Ability to set a creative tone and to inspire ideas/new concepts; ability to conceptually visualize and build a line.

  • Ability to work in NYC office 4-5 days a week.
