Class Description The purpose of this class is to develop, maintain, and supervise the use of the College's costume collection, provide costumes from various sources as needed for individual Theatre and Dance productions, and manage costume shop and equipment. Minimum Requirements Candidates with a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Theatre Design or a closely related field, along with at least five years of professional experience required. MFA in Costume Design, Production, or a related field with a minimum of three years of similar experience is preferred.

Flexible schedule including evenings/weekends during production weeks required. Ability to travel between three CCBC campuses (Essex, Dundalk and Catonsville) required. Preferred Qualifications Strong background in costume design, draping, tailoring, pattern making, dyeing, sewing (hand and machine) preferred.

Experience working in an educational institution is preferred Knowledge of both dance and theatre costume work is preferred. Prior experience managing a costume shop is strongly preferred. For best consideration, please apply by March 19.

Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale. Class Specific Essential Duties Design and build costumes for Theatre and Dance productions.

Maintain costumes, workshops, and storage shops. Supervise and mentor part-time costume theatre associates and student crews.. Manage costumes and makeup for productions, other projects, and student organizations

Oversee inventory, acquisition and control of costume collection. Work with vendors for production purchases. Manage shop, supplies and equipment.

There will be other duties as assigned. Position Specific Essential Duties Design and execute costuming for all academic Theater and Dance productions (with small-medium casts) annually per academic year, through building costumes, alteration of existing collection, rentals and purchases. Oversee the costume budget, purchasing, rental and tracking expenditures.

Collaborate with faculty, guest directors, and Director of the Arts to ensure high-quality productions.. Attend department faculty meetings and participate in the production meetings.. Collaborate with faculty and staff in selecting a season of departmental productions that is both manageable for the costume department and which provides proper opportunities and challenges for our students

Organize, schedule, manage, and attend fittings, dress rehearsals, and strikes.. Coordinate costume loans for community theatre productions and other student productions when time permits.. Coordinate costume rentals for external productions if and when time and personnel permit.?
