Quality Technician
Location: Santa Rosa, CA

Job Overview:
The Quality Technician will support manufactured and externally sourced components that will be assembled into test equipment. The role involves performing mechanical measurements on precision milled, turned, chemical milled, wire EDM, gun drilled, plated, laser-machined, and other specialty components. The technician applies technical skills to clarify, analyze, develop, and implement solutions while adhering to professional and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical measurements of high-precision components using hand tools and specialized equipment.
Read and interpret 2D drawings and 3D models, applying Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
Support production and quality objectives by implementing solutions in your area of expertise.
Maintain high workmanship standards and deliver on commitments.
Work effectively with defined objectives and solve technical problems of limited scope.
Build and maintain professional relationships across the team and organization.
Follow established processes and contribute to team goals.
Exercise discretion and professionalism in the use of time and resources.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong background in GD&T and mechanical measurement.
Experience with hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gages.
Solid PC skills (MS Windows and Office applications).
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Mechanical competence and ability to solve technical problems.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards; ASQ-CMI-CQI certifications a plus.
Experience with ANSI Z540.3, ISO 17025 standards.
Hands-on experience with CMM, optical interferometry equipment, and precision gages.
Familiarity with Coordinate Measuring Machines and optical surface profilers.
3D modeling knowledge (NX, SolidWorks, or similar software).
Experience with SPC software and data analysis.

Education & Experience:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
2–5 years of experience in quality control within a manufacturing environment.
