Business Development EMS Liaison
The Business Development EMS Liaison serves as the primary resource for developing and maintaining relationships between Halifax Health and Emergency Management Services (EMS) providers in Volusia County, including city fire departments responsible for patient transport. This role fosters collaborative partnerships, enhances referral patterns to Halifax Health emergency rooms, delivers targeted education to EMS personnel, and gathers business intelligence to support strategic planning and marketing initiatives. The Liaison contributes to Halifax Health's mission, vision, and strategic objectives by proactively addressing EMS and fire department needs, monitoring competitor activity, and promoting new programs and service line advancements.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Halifax Health, Volusia County EMS, and city fire departments providing patient transport.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships to improve referral patterns for patient transport to Halifax Health emergency rooms.
  • Provide ongoing education and updates to EMS leadership, paramedics, and EMTs regarding Halifax Health services, certifications, and new programs.
  • Gather, analyze, and report business intelligence related to EMS and fire department needs, competitor strategies, and market changes.
  • Document outreach efforts and relationship-building activities in customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Identify and communicate barriers to EMS and facility access, collaborating with internal stakeholders to facilitate solutions.
  • Coordinate and promote educational events and opportunities for EMS personnel.
  • Support Halifax Health's marketing and business development strategies as they relate to EMS partnerships.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate tact, diplomacy, and discretion in all interactions.
  • Engage in and promote Halifax Health's mission, vision, and values.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent EMS or business development experience considered.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in business development, healthcare, or EMS settings. EMS experience may substitute for business development experience.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License required.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with EMS, fire departments, and healthcare providers.
  • Experience in external communications, decision-making, and relationship management.
  • Knowledge of EMS operations and patient transport protocols preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems.
  • Ability to develop and deliver educational presentations to EMS audiences.
  • Project management and event planning experience.
  • Familiarity with traditional and digital media, including social media platforms.
  • Willingness to learn new software and technology as required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the Health System.
