Job description

About US

Lost and Crowned, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to break down barriers and restore dignity. We provide free custom wigs and cranial prostheses to individuals experiencing hair loss due to medical conditions, treatments, and other related causes. Hair loss often carries a deep emotional and psychological weight, creating feelings of isolation, loss of identity, and anxiety for both women and men. By providing these essential prostheses along with compassionate community support, we bridge the isolation gap and ensure that hair loss and life circumstances never define an individual's self-worth or purpose. We help our recipients regain their confidence, reclaim their self-image, and step back into everyday life with pride.

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive, self-motivated Grant & Sponsorship Specialist (Volunteer) to lead our funding outreach efforts. In this remote volunteer role, you will be the driving force behind discovering and securing financial support through grant proposals, local corporate partnerships, and business sponsorships.

Key Responsibilities & Role Expectations

Grant Research & Writing: Identify, research, and evaluate local, regional, and national grant opportunities (foundations, corporate giving programs, and family trusts) aligned with our mission.

Proposal Development: Write clear, persuasive grant applications, cover letters, and supporting documentation tailored to funder requirements.

Corporate & Business Outreach: Help design sponsorship pitch packages and conduct outreach to local business owners and corporate partners for event/program sponsorships.

Relationship & Deadline Management: Maintain a tracking system for grant application deadlines, submission statuses, and reporting requirements.

Collaborative Support: Work directly with organizational leadership to align funding requests with current financial and program needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong written communication and storytelling skills—the ability to translate community impact into compelling proposals.

Self-directed with solid organization, research, and time-management skills.

Comfort conducting outreach to prospective corporate sponsors or business partners.

Basic understanding of nonprofit fundraising, grant writing, or sales/marketing strategies.

Access to a reliable computer and internet connection.

Organizational Impact & Perks

Direct Community Impact: Every grant awarded and sponsorship secured directly funds life-changing support, programs, and resources for individuals navigating major life challenges.

Portfolio & Resume Building: Gain real-world experience, measurable results, and a solid track record of successful grant applications and corporate partnerships.

Flexibility: 100% remote opportunity with flexible weekly hours (approx. 3–5 hours per week).

Leadership Connection: Work closely with our leadership team, receiving direct support and reference letters celebrating your achievements.
