Overview

The Salon People - Aveda Southeast Powered by the Salon People, based in St. Petersburg, Florida is seeking a Hair Color Specialist to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina! (or very nearby). Our organization's mission is to Create Chain Reactions of Care and are looking for someone who has the passion to Inspire, Educate, Consult, and Coach Aveda Stylists throughout North Carolina (and other states at times) with Care.ย 


The role of the Hair Color Specialist is to support the growth of the Hair Color business by increasing artist confidence, technical consistency, consultation excellence, and Aveda Hair Color adoption within the salon network. The Hair Color Specialist serves as a technical growth partner working alongside the Sr. Hair Color Manager, Hair Color Manager and Salon Development Partners to support salons through in-salon coaching, technical education, displacement opportunities, and ongoing Hair Color development.


This role primarily focuses on Hair Color displacement opportunities by helping identify salons and artists currently utilizing competitive Hair Color systems and supporting strategic conversion plans that build confidence and increase adoption of Aveda Hair Color. At the center of the role is helping artists feel supported, technically confident, and proud to utilize Aveda Hair Color behind the chair.

Job Requirements & Our Guiding Principles

General Requirements & Minimum Qualifications:ย 

Ability to WOW and inspire stylists!

Actively engaged in Social Media platformsย 

Licensed cosmetologist (existing FL license) with a minimum of 5 years' industry experience

Charismatic individual with strong negotiation and communication talents

Superior technical hairdressing

Experience as a Hair Color Educator

Aveda Purefessional Preferred

Strong facilitation, coaching, and leadership skills

Must live in Charlotte, NC (or very nearby)

Ability to travel extensively (80% + of time, primarily in the field with local and around the state travel, with occasional travel to other states in the Southeast)

Many Sundays may be required for education, as this is a day salons are typically closed

Experience with other major competitive color brands (Loreal, Redken, etc.)

Superior communication and networking skills that leads to buy-in and following from others.

Ability to analyze our objectives and propose a solution that benefits both the brand and the salons utilizing the Winning Pyramid.

Committed to providing outstanding Education.

Strong organizational and time management skills

Excellent communication and organization skills.

Computer literate, business writing and communication skills

Flexible and when needed working some weekends and evenings

Ability to adhere to budgets, for all field training activity and T&E

Ability to be flexible, accept change, and be a team player.ย 

Knowledge of Aveda products and experience in the Aveda network a plus

Experience with Sales Force a plus

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
