Job description

JOB DETAILS

Sets up and operates CNC (Computer Numeric Controls) machine to produce machined parts while maintaining quality and safety standards.  Controls product quality during production runs using precision measurement tools.

Preferred Requirements

  • Familiarity with MRPII
  • Experience with Haas CNC control
  • Experience turning and threading stainless steel
  • Knowledge of G code programming and editing
  • CAM programming experience

Required Education / Experience / Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • One to two years of prior factory employment preferred
  • Two years of CNC experience, including lathe setup

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Obtain production requirements for the daily production from Workflow  
  • Select appropriate CNC programs for the current job
  • Program CNC to specific operation (knowledge of operation of CNC may be obtained through onthejob training or vocational education)  
  • Select appropriate tooling for each job application
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Use precision measurement tools including height gauge, micrometers, calipers, and pins gauges
  • Perform dimensional checks of parts using precision measurement tools
  • Make CNC program corrections as necessary
  • Troubleshoot setup and production issues in a timely manner
  • Measure parts to ensure they are within the allowed tolerances and offset the machine as needed
  • Perform first piece and inprocess quality checks
  • Perform defined preventive maintenance activities.   
  • Inventory recording accuracy
  • Responsibility for identification, documentation, segregation, evaluation, and disposition of nonconforming products, services, or systems
  • Responsible for adherence and knowledge of all ISO processes, procedures, flowcharts, and quality policy
  • All department processes and procedures documented and the appropriate individual(s) trained and crosstrained as necessary
  • Ensure use of safety devices and PPE.
  • Troubleshoots equipment with CNC operating systems
  • Inventory recording accuracy
  • Responsibility for identification, documentation, segregation, evaluation, and disposition of nonconforming products, services, or systems
  • Responsible for adherence and knowledge of all ISO processes, procedures, flowcharts, and quality policy
  • Other duties may be assigned
