Description:

Advanced Obstetrics & Gynecology is recruiting a full-time or part-time Patient Service Representative (Receptionist/Scheduler) to join our team to provide excellent customer service to our patients. Advanced OBGYN is a premiere OB/GYN practice and has 4 locations in Flemington, Lebaon, and Branchburg New Jersey.


The PSR will be responsible for greeting patients, registration and checkout of patients, and providing support to patients and medical staff.


Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Greeting patients and families to the practice and performing registration functions for new and existing patients. Provides necessary paperwork to the patient for completion and signature, reviews same for accuracy, updates patient information in Nextgen (E.H.R.), and notifies staff that patient is ready.
  • Efficiently and timely answering the phone and directing calls to the appropriate staff or recording messages.
  • Retrieving messages that are received via voicemail and addresses them appropriately.
  • Verifying correct insurance information for scheduled patients and confirms active benefits either electronically or by phone call to the insurance company.
  • Explaining financial requirements to patients; collects and record copays as required. Advises patients of any outstanding balance and collection of this payment.
  • Reconciling payments received and balancing with encounter forms. Reviews for accuracy.
  • Using practice management system appropriately to schedule, reschedule and cancel patient appointments per guidelines given.
  • Maintains various logs of daily activity.
  • Preparing paperwork for patients with upcoming appointments.
  • Finalizing patient schedules for the previous day.
  • Scanning documents into the electronic health record.
  • Maintaining confidentiality regarding all patients.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by providers, coordinators and management in accordance with established office policy.
