Job description

Receptionist 1

The Receptionist 1 receives and correctly routes incoming and outgoing telephone calls and accommodates visitors to attend to all callers/visitors promptly. The Receptionist 1 performs basic administrative/clerical/operational/customer support/computational tasks. Typically work on routine and patterned assignments.

Location: CenterWell Senior Primary Care office located at 545 Gulfgate Center Mall, Houston, TX 77087

Reports To: Manager, Clinic/Center Administration

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate a switchboard or multi-line phone and maintain long distance call logs.
  • Take and distribute accurate messages.
  • Greet visitors and determine the nature of their visit, issues visitor passes and maintain visitor logs.
  • Alert appropriate party of visitor arrival or directs visitors to appropriate office, department or employee.
  • Respond to routine inquiries from internal or external sources such as our location, hours of operation, phone numbers, and email address.
  • Additional responsibilities may include miscellaneous administrative activities such as booking meeting rooms, typing, organizing and distributing mail, receiving and sending courier packages.
  • Limit decisions to defined parameters around work expectations, quality standards, priorities and timing, and works under close guidance and within established guidelines with minimal opportunity for deviation.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • 1 year or more of experience working in a Healthcare setting preferred but will consider candidates with a Customer Service background in Retail Hospitality, Call Centers.

  • Experience with EMR Systems (Electronic Medical Records)

Other Qualifications:

We consider this role patient-facing and runs the Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, we will require you to screen for TB.
