Gym Director/General Manager
Job Description:
My Gym White Rock is seeking an energetic, people-focused Gym Director/General Manager to help launch and lead our newest location.
This is not a behind-the-scenes management role. You'll regularly teach classes, lead birthday parties and special events, build relationships with families, coach team members, and drive membership growth while helping shape our culture, team, and member experience from day one.
This role offers valuable experience in small business operations, sales, marketing, team leadership, and community building, making it an excellent opportunity for future entrepreneurs and business leaders.
My Gym White Rock is preparing for our Fall 2026 opening. During the pre-opening phase, you'll focus on founding membership sales, community outreach, local partnerships, hiring, and training at existing My Gym locations. Travel is required.
Compensation: $40,000-$55,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus performance-based bonus opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Center Leadership & Operations
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring a safe, organized, energetic, and welcoming environment.
  • Manage staff schedules, facility upkeep, and operational standards.
  • Build relationships with families.
  • Address employee performance, training, and development needs.
  • Schedule includes four weekday shifts and one weekend shift.

Membership Growth & Community Outreach
  • Drive membership sales through tours, trial classes, lead follow-up, and enrollment conversations.
  • Respond promptly to prospective and current families by phone, text, email, and in person.
  • Build relationships with local schools, daycares, parent groups, and community organizations.
  • Represent My Gym at community events and outreach opportunities.
  • During pre-opening, conduct high-volume outreach to prospective families, often exceeding 50 outbound calls, texts, and emails per day based on enrollment goals.

Team Development & Training
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and develop exceptional team members.
  • Lead staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development.
  • Provide coaching to ensure consistent delivery of the My Gym experience.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, growth, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Teaching & Member Experience
  • Teach My Gym classes and serve as a lead instructor.
  • Deliver engaging, high-energy experiences that build children's confidence, coordination, social skills, and physical development.
  • Lead birthday parties, camps, and special events.
  • Create a positive, encouraging environment where every child feels successful and every family feels valued.
  • Step into classes as needed to maintain staffing coverage and a consistent member experience.
Qualifications
  • Passion for working with children.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in sales, customer service, hospitality, retail management, operations management, business management, education, fitness, childcare, or small business environments is preferred.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable with sales, outreach, and asking families to enroll.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, growing business where priorities evolve as the center opens and expands.
  • Weekend availability is required.
  • Ability to actively participate in classes and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, move, bend, climb, and engage with children throughout the day.
