Job description

Child/Adolescent Psychiatry Opportunity in Westminster, Maryland~ Located 35 miles from Baltimore~ H1b Eligible*Medical Director of Behavioral Health Services*Details:

  • Full-time, permanent
  • This position is a multi-faceted administrative, clinical, and academic role which involves providing direct patient care to all age groups
  • Developing clinical programs with a vision to expand child and adolescent psychiatric services.
  • All faculty receive a full academic appointment through The GWU School of Medicine & Health Sciences, Washington, DC.
  • Clinical: Primarily inpatient
  • Provide clinical care to adolescents and adults on different services.
  • The scope and allocation of time for clinical activity will be discussed in more detail during the interview process.
  • Clinical/Admin is -80% clinical/20% admin
  • 12-14 daily patients
  • Administrative:
  • Collaborate with health system leadership in understanding community needs and the strategic vision to develop clinical programs across the care spectrum.
  • Actively recruit and retain staff for teams across different disciplines.
  • Review to ensure regulatory preparedness and compliance of the programs at the Hospital
  • Ensure clinical documentation and associated charges are completed in a timely manner aligned with departmental policies.
  • Oversight of the call schedule for clinicians
  • Supervision and oversight of APPs
  • Academic:
  • Faculty receive a full-time academic appointment with The GWU School of Medicine at the rank commensurate with their achievements per standards set by the SOM.
  • Medical students in their 3rd & 4th year rotate through Psychiatry as one of their core clerkships and receive bedside teaching and supervision. Faculty are involved in their grading process and mentoring for scholarly interests.
  • Faculty are also expected to teach didactics based on their area of expertise as per a set schedule.
  • A plethora of career development resources are available through the school of medicine, in addition to the leadership institute to promote professional enhancement and growth.
  • Requirement:
  • BC Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist eligible for a Maryland State Medical License & DEA at the time of appointment.
  • Preferably 3 years of work experience in clinical child psychiatry
