Job description

The George Washington University Capital Medical Group (formerly the GW Medical Faculty Associates) are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Glaucoma Ophthalmologist to join a respected academic ophthalmology program in the heart of Washington, DC. This position offers a rare blend of highquality clinical practice, advanced glaucoma surgery, and handson resident and medical student education. Candidates will have the opportunity to develop a high-volume practice to manage complex glaucoma disease, perform cuttingedge procedures, and contribute to training the next generation of ophthalmologists within a collaborative, wellsupported environment.

  • Patient Volume: 30-40 patients daily (excluding surgery and admin time)

Responsibilities

  • Provide glaucoma laser and incisional procedures and cataract surgeries to a diverse patient population
  • Educate medical students and ophtahlmology residents through didactices and clinical/surgical encounters
  • Contribute to the coverage of teh GW Hospital Emergency Department. This call is shared with other members and paid per night.

  • Salary: Competitive compensation in the $300K-$400K range; RVU based system with an incentive bonus and separately paid call coverage

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmology
  • Fellowship trained in Glaucoma
  • Eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia
  • While all qualified canddidates will be considered, experience and interest in academic settings are preferred
