Job description

Pipe Fitter 1st Class - up to $52 an hour and $180 day per diem.

We're actively hiring experienced Pipe Fitter 1st Class professionals for shipbuilding projects in Pascagoula, Mississippi. This is an excellent opportunity to join a premier Gulf Coast shipyard offering competitive pay, long-term work, overtime opportunities, and per diem for qualified travelers.

As a Pipe Fitter, you'll be responsible for the layout, fabrication, installation, and repair of piping systems aboard marine vessels. The ideal candidate has strong shipyard experience, can read and interpret complex drawings and schematics, and takes pride in producing quality work safely and efficiently.

What You'll Do
  • Read and interpret blueprints, piping diagrams, isometric drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Layout, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair marine piping systems.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and align pipe, fittings, flanges, valves, and supports.
  • Perform pipe fit-up and prepare components for welding.
  • Tack weld as required to support pipe installation activities.
  • Inspect and test piping systems to ensure proper fit, function, and quality standards.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and trade-specific equipment safely and effectively.
  • Work in shipboard environments, including confined spaces, elevated areas, and varying weather conditions.
  • Coordinate with welders, shipfitters, supervisors, and other trades to meet production schedules.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and follow all shipyard safety procedures.
What You Bring
  • Proven experience as a Marine Pipe Fitter.
  • Strong knowledge of pipe layout, fit-up, fabrication, and installation.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Experience working with pipe, flanges, valves, hangers, and supports.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of marine pipefitting experience.
  • Basic math, reading, and comprehension skills.
  • Knowledge of the layout, fit-up, fabrication, and installation of pipe, flanges, and valves.
  • Ability to use various hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
  • Ability to perform tack welding in support of pipe installation activities.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work overtime and flexible schedules as required.
  • Reliable transportation.
Pay & Benefits

$28.00 - $52.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

In addition, eligible employees may qualify for a **$250 Weekly Attendance Bonus **at some locations.

$180 Per Day Per Diem is available for qualified candidates.
