Job description

CDR General Services is seeking a Ship Fitter to join our team in Charleston, MO. This position is ideal for an experienced professional in shipyard or barge repair environments. Job Details

  • Pay Rate: $28 – $31 per hour (DOE)
  • Schedule: Typically 40–50 hours per week (overtime may be required)
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform fitting, layout, and fabrication work on ships and barges
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work orders
  • Measure, cut, fit, and align steel components according to specifications
  • Tack weld parts to secure proper fit-up prior to final welding
  • Repair and replace structural components such as plates, frames, and bulkheads
  • Use hand tools, power tools, torches, and measuring equipment safely
  • Work closely with welders and supervisors to ensure proper assembly and completion
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Qualifications
