Job description

LOCATION: 100 Gulf Freeway, Suite 114 League City, TX 77573
POSITION SUMMARY
Contributes to the organization by performing diagnostic tests as ordered by an Ophthalmologist. The Diagnostic Technician works with the Diagnostics team to provide services to a wide arrange of patients and their Physicians. This is a part time position, 3 days a week, Tuesday through Thursday.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs a variety of technical procedures that require knowledge and good patient care, to include:
a. Visual Testing
b. Ocular Coherence Tomography(OCT)
c. Corneal Topography
d. IOL Master/Lenstar
e. Basic IOL Calculations
f. Pachemetry
g. Specular Microscopy(ECC)
h. Basic Fundus Photography
i. External Photography for Ocular Plastics and Eye Muscle Documentation
j. Preparing/Cleaning/Maintaining Exam Rooms
Assumes responsibility with team for the overall cleanliness of diagnostic rooms
Advises Director of any problems with equipment
Complies with HIPPA regulations
Responsible for continuing education and professional development
All other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Requires corrected hearing and vision to within functional ranges. Requires frequent bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds and sufficient manual dexterity to operate therapeutic equipment. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to handle behavioral issues of patients and visitors while under highly stressful and volatile situations. Work is performed in an outpatient clinic environment. Work may be stressful at times.
Classified as having occupational exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens.

COMPETENCIES
EDUCATION High School Diploma.
CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES Basic Life Support (BLS). If not BLS certified at time of employment, must be obtained within 6 months of hire date.
EXPERIENCE 1-2 years of work experience. Diagnostic experience preferred.
