Position Summary

Position: HR Payroll Coordinator

Classification: Full Time; Exempt                                                                                                     

Reports To: HR Director

Work Location: In person; Gulf Freeway, South Houston, TX

Essential Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Review time sheets and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies
  • Prepares and processes weekly, semi, and monthly commission payrolls in ADP Workforce Now, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
  • Updates payroll changes and verifies that all time off requests have been approved
  • Maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Makes all payroll journal entries including 401k into CDK (DMS)
  • Ensures Payroll GL files are accurate and posts GL after every processed payroll
  • Ensures quarterly reporting and tax filing has been complete
  • Pulls pay data and reports for accounting and audits
  • Assists and provides service to employees for payroll-related inquiries
  • Other Duties May be assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • MS Office skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team, multitask, and meet payroll deadlines
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Relevant Work Experience & Other Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • 2-4 years of payroll experience preferred, but not required
  • ADP WFN experience preferred, but not required
  • Must meet dealership's requirements for employment, which include a background check and drug screening
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable based on driving record.
  • Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age
  • Must be punctual and reliable.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit, stand, and/ or walk for extended periods of time
