Job description

DriverSource is seeking experienced CDL A Drivers to join our large fleet for regional and interstate routes originating out of Fremont, OH. Drivers will be on the road for 2 to 4 nights per week and home every weekend, hauling racks of building materials with routes primarily to Chicago and the Upper East Coast (excluding New York). This full-time, long-term position requires professionalism, adherence to regulations, and the ability to perform some unloading with a pallet jack or hand cart. Drivers will work alongside team unloading assistance and loading dock staff.

Responsibilities

  • Operate commercial trucks on long-haul routes out 2 to 4 nights per week
  • Manage assigned routes efficiently between Fremont, Chicago, and Upper East Coast
  • Adhere to all DOT and FMCSA safety regulations and company policies
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate trip records
  • Handle loads including some unloading with pallet jack or hand cart
  • Communicate professionally with customers and team members
  • Work overtime as necessary following 40-hour workweek guidelines
  • Maintain clean MVR and comply with all transportation and safety regulations

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CDL Class A license with minimum 1 year recent verifiable commercial driving experience
  • Possess a valid DOT medical card
  • Clean driving record without felonies in last 10 years
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Meet all FMCSA requirements
  • Self-motivated with ability to follow direction
  • Comply fully with DOT regulations (hours of service, E-Logs, trip inspections)

Preferred Qualifications

  • More than 1 year of commercial truck driving experience
  • Experience with manual transmission vehicles
  • Route planning and time management skills
  • Proficient in pallet jack operation
