Summary of Position

Maintain clean dining area and replenish clean items along with assisting Front of House staff throughout shift.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Wipe tables or seats with dampened cloths or replace dirty tablecloths.
  • Complete opening and closing duties effectively and in timely manner.
  • Sweep, mop, and set out mats.
  • Set tables with clean linens, condiments, or other supplies.
  • Scrape and stack dirty dishes and carry dishes and other tableware to kitchens for cleaning.
  • Clean up spilled food or drink or broken dishes and remove empty bottles and trash.
  • Perform serving, cleaning, or stocking duties in dining rooms, to facilitate customer service.
  • Maintain adequate supplies of items such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, or trays.
  • Fill beverage or ice dispensers.
  • Stock cabinets or serving areas with condiments and refill condiment containers.
  • Locate items requested by customers.
  • Carry food, dishes, trays, or silverware from kitchens to serving area.
  • Serve food to customers when servers need assistance.
  • Clean and polish counters, shelves, walls, furniture, or equipment in food service areas or other areas of restaurants and mop or vacuum floors.
  • Assist servers with sidework if necessary.
  • Accommodate guests needs or requests when possible or direct them to someone who can.
  • Restock bar ice wells, bus tubs, and trash cans.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This position operates in a restaurant setting. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns. Frequent hand washing is required.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching. The position requires lifting of items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.
