Job Duties
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Teach assigned subject matter with professionalism and uphold college values.
  2. Meet classes according to the schedule.
  3. Attend faculty/departmental meetings as requested.
  4. Follow exam schedules unless otherwise approved.
  5. Provide access to students for advising, conferences, and tutorial help.
  6. Advise students as needed.
  7. Maintain accurate student records and submit reports timely.
  8. Use instructional support services (e.g., Learning Resources Centers).
  9. Conduct course evaluations per college procedures.
  10. Ensure instructional consistency with college and departmental standards.
  11. Contribute to college goals, course objectives, and student achievement.
  12. Act as a public representative for the community college.
  13. Supervise or participate in extracurricular activities as assigned.
  14. Evaluate student progress adequately.
  15. Participate in college governance councils as assigned.
  16. Serve on academic/instructional committees as assigned.
  17. Carry out other duties as assigned by the department or administration.

Job Description
Responsible for the teaching at USM Gulf Park and other MGCCC campuses and centers as assigned, as well as the other duties and responsibilities inherent in this position. Reports to the Chairperson of the School of Science and Kinesiology for the Harrison County Campus. Courses to be taught include, but are not limited to, Organic Chemistry I and II and General Chemistry I and II.
Mandatory Qualifications
(M1) Master's degree in chemistry or master's degree with a minimum of eighteen graduate semester hours in chemistry from an accredited institution of higher learning.
(M2) Teaching experience.
(M3) Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
(M4) Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite.
Desirable Qualifications
(D1) Community college and/or college-level teaching experience in chemistry.
(D2) Experience in multi-media and/or on-line instructional delivery.
(D3) Terminal degree in biology or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning.
