Overview

The Divisional Sales Director is responsible for the overall commercial performance of a group of clusters or sub-divisions within a Business Unit. They provide strategic leadership, coaching, and operational oversight to Sales Managers and/or Business Development Directors with line management responsibility.

This role owns the revenue portfolio across their division, including new business generation, customer retention, share of wallet growth, and strategic account execution. Working closely with other senior leaders, they translate Element's commercial strategy into regional execution, ensuring every cluster delivers against its revenue and customer goals.

The Divisional Sales Director plays a key role in developing leadership capability, embedding commercial excellence, and driving alignment across sales, marketing, operations, and other enabling functions.

Responsibilities

COMMERCIAL STRATEGY & EXECUTION

    Own revenue targets and customer growth
  • Develop Divisional Sales Plan aligned with BU goals
  • Monitor and act on commercial performance
  • Lead divisional level forecasting, reporting & reviews
  • Partner with other functional colleagues to drive growth
  • Capture and share market and customer insights
  • Support integration of acquisitions

TEAM LEADERSHIP, COACHING & COMEX

  • Drive adoption of ComEx systems, processes & tools
  • Lead, support, coach & develop team members
  • Set clear goals, expectations and standards
  • Drive use and data quality of CRM records
  • Lead and participate in training and coaching
  • Support succession planning, capability development and talent retention

COMPLIANCE & CONDUCT

  • Comply with Element's commercial policies and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrate Element's values of Integrity, Care and Progress
  • Operate within all applicable laws and uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct

ONGOING DEVELOPMENT

  • Participate in training, coaching and team learning

Skills / Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; advanced business or leadership training is a plus
  • Leadership experience including managing multi-cluster or multi-region sales teams
  • Proven track record of delivering sustainable revenue growth across diverse portfolios
  • Demonstrated ability to lead go-to-market planning, coverage models, pricing strategy, and budget ownership
  • Experienced in leading through influence and collaboration
  • Comfortable using commercial data platforms
