About Empeon
Empeon is a healthcare-focused Human Capital Management (HCM) platform that unifies HR, payroll, time & attendance, and scheduling for healthcare organizations. Our Scheduling module was built for the realities of 24/7 patient care: census-driven staffing targets (HPPD), call-outs and last-minute shift vacancies, shift swaps and open-shift bidding, overtime alerts, and compliance with CMS staffing standards. Our clients are primarily skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), assisted living facilities (ALFs), and other long-term and post-acute care providers.
About the Role
You will own the onboarding journey for clients adopting Empeon's Scheduling module — from kickoff and discovery through configuration, training, go-live, and handoff to Customer Success. You are the bridge between how a facility staffs its floors today and how Empeon makes that faster, compliant, and predictable. Success in this role means clients go live on time, schedulers actually use the system, and staffing compliance becomes easier, not harder.
What You'll Do
Run discovery sessions to map each facility's staffing model: units, positions (RN/LPN/CNA and non-clinical roles), shift patterns and rotations, census-based HPPD budgets, and approval workflows.
Configure the module to match: shift templates and color-coding, differential pay rates and shift bonuses, overtime alert thresholds, call-out and shift-swap workflows, open-shift bidding, and geofenced mobile clock-in.
Ensure scheduling works seamlessly with the client's Empeon Time & Attendance and Payroll setup, validating that scheduled shifts, punches, and pay rules reconcile correctly.
Train schedulers, DONs, administrators, and HR teams — remotely and, when needed, on-site — and drive caregiver adoption of self-service scheduling on mobile.
Guide clients through compliance-oriented setup: CMS minimum staffing requirements, state DOH staffing rules, PBJ considerations, and HPPD targets tied to the CMS 5-Star Quality Rating System.
What You'll Bring
2–4 years in SaaS implementation, onboarding, or customer success — ideally with workforce management, scheduling, time & attendance, or payroll software.
Working knowledge of long-term care operations: 24/7 staffing, census-driven coverage, nurse staffing ratios, and the realities of filling a 6a–2p shift at 5am.
Nice to Have
Direct experience working in or with SNFs, ALFs, or other post-acute/senior care settings (scheduler, staffing coordinator, HR, or vendor-side).
Why This Role Matters
Understaffed shifts in a nursing facility aren't an inconvenience — they're a patient-care and compliance risk. Every facility you onboard well means schedulers spend less time making phone calls at 5am and more time keeping floors safely staffed. You'll have direct, visible impact on how healthcare workforces run.
