Job description

Description:

Revolution Rail Co. is seeking dynamic & energetic people for our Rail Bike Guide position. Those who enjoy interacting with people and like working outdoors are the ideal candidate. They will work closely with our management team to provide guided rail bike tours, support the customer experience, and gather occasional content for social media.


Ideal candidates will have experience in hospitality and outdoor excursions. The ability to learn new skills, a friendly and outgoing disposition and a strong work ethic are more important than previous experience. Guides who display initiative and ability to contribute will have the opportunity to develop and grow with a rapidly expanding national organization.


This position has a start date of late June.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily station operations: check-in customers arriving for rail bike tours, answer phones and respond to emails, book reservations over the phone and in-person, etc.
  • Chat with walk-in customers: answer any questions they may have, provide an overview of the rail bike tours, etc.
  • Assist with the station gift shop: process transactions via cash/card, restock merchandise, maintain cleanliness and organization
  • Assist with daily and weekly tasks to maintain a clean and attractive station environment
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with other rail bike guides regarding customer flow
  • Create a fun & memorable experience for customers
  • Lead groups on railbike tours
  • Develop an understanding of the RevRail customer experience, our excursions, and environmental awareness
  • Ensure the safety & wellbeing of all participants.
  • Deliver safety briefings and history talks (will train)
  • Make minor repairs and adjustments to rail bikes (will train)
  • Provide first aid and emergency response as needed (will train)
  • Fulfill other duties set out by management
Requirements:
  • Physical fitness: ability to team-lift two-seat and four-seat rail bikes (180-220lbs) with assistance and pedal a railbike for 2-hour time blocks 3-4 times a shift
  • Love of nature and being outdoors
  • Have excellent people and communication skills
  • Provide professional, friendly customer service in all interactions

  • Ability to work in various weather conditions
