With three locations in Melrose, Newburyport, and a new office in Lexington, Massachusetts, Martino Law Group, LLC is a 15-member law firm seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney to join its fast-growing practice in the Melrose, Lexington, and Newburyport areas. The ideal candidate is seasoned, confident, strategic, and thrives in the courtroom. Our firm is expanding rapidly, and we are seeking "A" players.


Must have family law experience and be ready to represent the client from day I in court.

Compensation:

$85,000 - $157,500+ yearly


Responsibilities:
  • Organize and maintain client files to ensure they are kept current
  • Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs analyzing the situation then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action
  • Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgements, and orders for a high volume of cases
  • Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients
  • Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings
  • Manage a full docket of divorce, custody, support, and modification cases, both contested and uncontested.
  • Conduct depositions, motions, pretrial conferences, and trials in Middlesex, Suffolk, and Essex Counties.
  • Draft and negotiate prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. Participate in and conduct mediation sessions.
  • Billable Target - Minimum 1,560 hours.
  • Collaborate within the firm’s pod structure to ensure excellent client communication and results.
  • As part of your POD, you will lead a Paralegal and a Client Success Coordinator.
  • Engage in firm-wide marketing and community outreach (blogs, local events, professional visibility).
  • Contribute to the continued growth and leadership of the Family Law division.
  • Mentor paralegals and junior attorneys.
  • Additional Compensation for Portables and originated business across practice Areas.

Qualifications:
  • Prior work or studies in criminal justice preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are required
  • Candidates should be great negotiators and communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high
  • Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association)
  • Proven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants
  • Licensed to practice in Massachusetts (New Hampshire license a plus).
  • 3+ years of family law experience with a preference for 5+ years.
  • Demonstrated trial and courtroom proficiency, including depositions, pretrial conferences, and trials.
  • Experience with Guardian ad Litem coordination, DCF involvement, and high-net-worth divorces/business valuations.
  • Skilled in drafting and negotiating prenuptial agreements.
  • Familiar with or willing to learn Clio, Lawmatics, DecisionVault, ClickUp, and Westlaw/Clio Draft, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Calm, strategic, and conciliatory approach to conflict resolution.
  • Leadership and mentoring capability; able to motivate and inspire others.
