Job description

Circle (NYSE: CRCL) is one of the world's leading internet financial platform companies, building the foundation of a more open, global economy through digital assets, payment applications, and programmable blockchain infrastructure. Circle's platform includes the world's largest regulated stablecoin network anchored by USDC, Circle Payments Network for global money movement, and Arc, an enterprise-grade blockchain designed to become the Economic OS for the internet. Enterprises, financial institutions, and developers use Circle to power trusted, internet-scale financial innovation. Learn more at circle.com.

What you'll be part of:

Circle is committed to visibility and stability in everything we do. As we grow as an organization, we're expanding into some of the world's strongest jurisdictions. Speed and efficiency are motivators for our success and our employees live by our company values: High Integrity, Future Forward, Multistakeholder, Mindful, and Driven by Excellence. We have built a flexible work environment where new ideas are encouraged and everyone is a stakeholder.

What you'll be responsible for:

As the Director, StableFX Strategy & GTM, you will define and execute the growth strategy for StableFX, Circle's institutional marketplace for stablecoin-based foreign exchange. Working across Product, Capital Markets, Partnerships, Marketing, Compliance, and Commercial teams, you will determine where StableFX wins, who it wins with, and how it scales.

This role goes beyond traditional business development, product management, or product marketing. Success comes from identifying market opportunities, defining ideal customer profiles, building scalable go-to-market motions, and developing the network effects that drive marketplace growth.

You will operate across the three sides of the StableFX ecosystem - issuers, makers, and takers - shaping issuer acquisition strategy, influencing liquidity and market-expansion initiatives, and leading customer acquisition and commercialization for takers. Partnering closely with Product and Capital Markets, you will bring market insight into product decisions while building the partnerships and growth programs that accelerate adoption.

As the voice of the market, you will help Circle identify where StableFX delivers differentiated value and translate those opportunities into scalable business outcomes.

What success looks like:

Within your first 90 days, you will:

  • Develop and socialize a comprehensive StableFX growth strategy aligned across Product, Capital Markets, Partnerships, and executive leadership.

  • Define and prioritize target segments and ideal customer profiles across issuer, maker, and taker audiences.

  • Assess competitive positioning and identify where StableFX can establish meaningful differentiation.

  • Build strong working relationships across Product, Capital Markets, Marketing, Compliance, and Commercial teams.

  • Establish operating rhythms for customer discovery and market feedback that influence product direction.

  • Form an initial point of view on taker strategy, including customer prioritization, distribution opportunities, and adoption barriers.

Within your first 6-12 months, you will:

  • Launch strategic partnerships and commercial programs that drive measurable StableFX adoption.

  • Establish repeatable acquisition, onboarding, activation, and expansion motions across priority segments.

  • Influence roadmap priorities that improve competitiveness, customer experience, and adoption.

  • Develop scalable strategies for acquiring high-quality institutional issuers across key currencies and regions.

  • Expand StableFX liquidity by identifying and onboarding new market makers and other institutional liquidity providers.

  • Build and execute the taker strategy end to end - segmentation, value proposition, partnership programs, and demand generation.

  • Create commercialization frameworks that improve launch readiness, customer validation, onboarding, and go-to-market execution.

  • Develop a point of view on future expansion - additional asset classes, institutional workflows, and adjacent market infrastructure.

What you'll bring to Circle:

Core requirements:

  • 10+ years in strategy, growth, management consulting, business development, partnerships, or go-to-market leadership.

  • Deep understanding of foreign exchange, liquidity networks, treasury infrastructure, payments, capital markets, or broader financial market structure.

  • Demonstrated success defining and scaling new businesses, marketplaces, platforms, or networks from early-stage adoption through growth.

  • Experience developing market strategy, customer segmentation and ICPs, commercialization frameworks, and go-to-market programs for complex B2B products.

  • Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and drive alignment across organizations without direct authority.

  • Experience translating customer, market, and competitive insight into business strategy and product recommendations.

  • Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills, with comfort navigating highly ambiguous environments.

  • Experience building partnership strategies that drive measurable acquisition, adoption, liquidity, or revenue outcomes.

  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.

Preferred requirements:

  • Experience with stablecoins, digital assets, blockchain infrastructure, or crypto-native financial services.

  • Hands-on experience with electronic trading, liquidity management, market structure, or trading venues.

  • Experience working with banks, payment companies, remittance providers, OTC desks, exchanges, market makers, or other regulated financial institutions.

  • Familiarity with beta programs, onboarding design, and customer adoption frameworks.
