What is a GTM Engineer?

A GTM (Go-to-Market) Engineer is a professional who bridges the gap between technical product development and commercial teams. GTM Engineers work closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure new products or features are successfully launched and adopted in the market. They help translate technical capabilities into customer benefits, provide technical expertise during sales cycles, and may assist with product demonstrations, solution architecture, and customer feedback. Their goal is to accelerate product adoption and support revenue growth through technical enablement.

What are some typical challenges a GTM Engineer faces when integrating new products into existing sales and marketing workflows?

A GTM Engineer often encounters challenges such as aligning technical product features with the needs of the sales and marketing teams, ensuring seamless data flow between tools (like CRMs and marketing automation platforms), and translating complex product capabilities into clear value propositions. Additionally, they must anticipate and resolve compatibility or scalability issues that could impact go-to-market strategies. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and maintaining open communication is key to overcoming these hurdles and ensuring successful product launches.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a GTM (Go-to-Market) Engineer, and why are they important?

To excel as a GTM Engineer, you need a solid background in software engineering, product management, and business acumen, often with a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) platforms, cloud services, APIs, and analytics tools is commonly required. Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills help bridge technical and business teams effectively. Mastering these areas ensures successful product launches, customer satisfaction, and alignment between technical solutions and market needs.

What is the difference between Gtm Engineer vs Data Engineer?

The Role

We're looking for a highly curious and commercially minded GTM Engineer to help Netcraft build smarter, faster, and more scalable go-to-market systems.

You'll play a key role in improving how we identify high-value accounts, activate buying signals, enrich data, automate manual workflows, and turn marketing ideas into repeatable revenue programs. This role sits within the Demand Generation team and reports to the Director of Demand Generation.

This is not a traditional marketing operations or campaign execution role. You'll be expected to find friction, design workflows, test new plays, build automation, and connect the dots across data, tools, campaigns, and sales processes.

You'll work closely with Demand Generation, Sales, RevOps, and Product Marketing to help our commercial team move faster with better context. This is an opportunity to build and shape a new capability within Netcraft's go-to-market team, with direct impact on pipeline creation, account engagement, and revenue growth.

What you'll be doing
  • Build and maintain automated GTM workflows that support demand generation, ABM, inbound conversion, outbound prospecting, event follow-up, reactivation, and sales enablement.
  • Connect and orchestrate systems across tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Qualified, G2, RollWorks, LinkedIn, enrichment platforms, AI tools, spreadsheets, and automation platforms.
  • Translate buying signals, website engagement, firmographic data, content engagement, event activity, and account-level research into actionable sales and marketing plays.
  • Build workflows for account research, contact acquisition, enrichment, deduplication, segmentation, prioritization, routing, and sales-ready exports.
  • Create systems that help Sales and BDR teams understand who to contact, why now, what to say, and what context matters.
  • Develop intent-driven plays for strategic accounts, in-market accounts, competitor interest, event attendees, content engagement, dormant leads, and high-fit inbound activity.
  • Partner with RevOps to improve data quality, routing logic, lifecycle visibility, CRM hygiene, attribution, and reporting.
  • Design account scoring logic that combines firmographic fit, behavioral engagement, intent data, funnel stage, and historical conversion patterns.
  • Build AI-assisted workflows that support account research, personalization, messaging context, lead qualification, and follow-up.
  • Identify manual workflows across Marketing that can be automated, simplified, or made more repeatable.
  • Monitor workflow performance and recommend improvements based on meeting creation, conversion rates, pipeline influence, speed to lead, rep adoption, and data quality.
  • Document workflow logic, data sources, process steps, dependencies, and failure points so systems can be maintained and improved over time.
What you'll need to be successful
  • Experience in GTM engineering, demand generation, revenue operations, marketing operations, sales operations, growth, or a similar role.
  • Strong comfort working with CRM and marketing automation systems such as Salesforce and HubSpot.
  • Hands-on experience building workflows with tools like Zapier, Google Sheets, enrichment platforms, AI tools, or similar automation systems.
  • Ability to work with data and turn it into clean, usable, revenue-driving workflows.
  • Strong understanding of B2B sales and marketing motions, including lead management, account prioritization, segmentation, routing, qualification, and pipeline creation.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to connect technical work to revenue outcomes.
  • Comfort with experimentation, testing, iteration, and performance measurement.
  • Strong systems thinking, with the ability to understand how changes in one part of the funnel affect another.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business needs into structured workflows and practical technical solutions.
  • Comfort working with APIs, webhooks, integrations, data synchronization, spreadsheets, and structured datasets.
  • Experience using AI tools or large language models to support research, personalization, scoring, routing, or workflow automation.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong documentation habits and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with a bias for action and problem-solving who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Passion for Netcraft's mission to protect the world from cybercrime, with an eagerness to contribute to a high-impact, purpose-driven team.
The Rewards Package
  • 33 days of vacation, including national holidays (which can be worked if you prefer)
  • Generous enhanced family leave and pay
  • Enhanced sick pay, increasing with length of service
  • Equity Tracking Units, allowing you to share in Netcraft's long-term success (eligibility criteria apply)
  • Hybrid and flexible working options
  • 401(k) Safe Harbor Plan with employer match
  • Comprehensive private health cover, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • Meals, snacks, and drinks provided in the office
  • Two paid Learning & Development days per year, plus access to learning resources such as Udemy and Coursera
  • Two paid Volunteering Days per year to support causes that matter to you
  • Spot reward bonus scheme recognizing outstanding contributions
  • Employee Referral Bonus Scheme
