Onsite:
This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the GM Defense Production Facility (Concord, North Carolina) on a full-time basis (shift is four 10's, Monday - Thursday). The role may occasionally require off shift or weekend coverage to support operations and critical investigations. This role requires flexibility to support changes in scheduled days, hours, and shift based on business needs.
The Role:
In this role you will serve as a key member of the Supply Chain team, responsible for SAP application support and forensic investigations of part and assembly structure issues. You will improve visibility and response to discrepancies between part record balances and on hand inventory and help maintain continuity of Supply Chain operations in SAP.
You will act as a liaison across multiple functions, engaging and supporting stakeholders in Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Suppliers, Customers, Finance, IT, and Global Supply Chain (GSC) to ensure accurate material records, robust business processes, and timely resolution of issues that impact plant metrics. This relationship supports the SAP interaction with daily operations for OEM, Service and future launch activity. Additionally, there will be considerable focus on the emerging shift into forensic investigation/evaluation associated with problem solving issues that will have considerable impact on our plant metrics.
The incumbent will need to be a self-starter, with a strong background in SAP, IT and GSC Business Processes. Their ability to investigate potential failure modes and establish root causes will be critical to our success. This role will require the ability to facilitate discussions and analysis amongst peers and plant leadership.
What You'll Do:
  • Executes deliverables in support of the supply chain organization's business objectives. Ensures business objectives are met or exceeded in all areas including customer, quality, service, responsiveness, people, product, and financial initiatives.
  • Position will act as a liaison and communicate with all levels of the organization. This role will be responsible for engaging & supporting stakeholders, as required, inclusive of purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, customers, finance, IT and all areas of GSC. Regular duties will include and require proficiency in:
  • SAP Material Master
  • Collaboration w/Conduent, Engineering, IT, Purchasing, Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Suppliers & Customers
  • Problem Solving
  • Cycle Count Reconciliation & Root Cause Analysis
  • Establish Corrective Action & Facilitate Execution
  • Monthly Inventory Reporting
  • SME support in troubleshooting / identifying failure modes in daily operations with respect to SAP & key business processes
  • Participate in GMS as a SLT SME
  • Provide & maintain evidence for GMS compliance
  • Provide SAP training & support as required
  • Assist in documenting GSC/SAP processes
  • Support GSC L2 BPD with required charts, tracking & countermeasures

Due to the high stakes associated with many of these initiatives, the successful candidate should possess the ability to:
  • Understand and assess complex supply chain issues and lead teams in a cross functional environment to successfully resolve issues minimizing impacts to component & finished goods production
  • Collaborate cross functionally to develop creative solutions.
  • Summarize critical issues with resolutions and communicate to leadership.
  • Collaboration with GSC Leadership on Strategic Initiatives and Continuous Improvement
  • Provide input on material flow & logistics solutions
  • Investigate and establish root cause discrepancies with record balance, on hand, and financial aspects of direct & indirect inventory.
  • Suggest improvements/error-proofing of processes/procedures.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, military training, and/or relevant work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or Global Supply Chain (GSC), logistics, maintenance, material management, inventory control, operations, or a closely related manufacturing function.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee).
  • Advanced knowledge of corporate tools and processes used to manage and report supply chain performance.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and root cause analysis skills, including experience establishing and driving corrective actions.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in cross functional teams that include Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Suppliers, Customers, Finance, IT, and GSC.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to summarize issues and resolutions for leadership.
  • Team oriented mindset with a track record of success in highly matrixed organizations.
  • Ability to work onsite full time with flexibility to support occasional off shift or weekend needs.
  • This role requires flexibility to support changes in scheduled days, hours, and shift based on business needs.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Master level SAP skillset with approximately two years of SAP experience, including strong knowledge of Material Master and core supply chain processes.
  • Experience leading forensic investigations into SAP and inventory discrepancies and presenting findings and recommendations to plant leadership.
  • Experience supporting OEM, Service, and launch activity with SAP and related supply chain processes.
  • Prior participation in GMS as an SLT SME or comparable continuous improvement and compliance systems.
  • Experience creating and maintaining process documentation and training materials for SAP and GSC processes.
  • Demonstrated success supporting Level 2 Business Plan Deployment (BPD) with charts, tracking, and countermeasures.
  • Proven ability to influence and motivate diverse internal and external stakeholders in a dynamic and demanding environment.
