Description

The Sales Assistant, Client Services provides day-to-day support for Macmillan's distribution team, partnering closely with Sales, Operations, and Clients to ensure accurate materials, strong title setup, and smooth execution across the publishing cycles. This is an entry-level role ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and interested in learning the fundamentals of sales and distribution in publishing.

What You'll Do:

Sales Materials & Launch Support

  • Prepare materials for launch meetings, including pulling tip sheets and publication schedules
  • Support Sales Conference readiness by ensuring titles are updated to NYP status and confirmed in Biblio
  • Conduct seasonal audits to confirm metadata (descriptions, covers, carton quantities) is complete and accurate across systems, including Edelweiss
  • Pull and organize Edelweiss collections as needed

Inventory & Title Management

  • Assist with weekly reporting by pulling P&B (print and bind) and reprint detail sheets
  • Maintain seasonal P&B dates in Biblio
  • Place titles on reserve to support preorder campaigns
  • Coordinate bindery orders and templates with Operations and publishing partners

Sales Materials Coordination

  • Act as a point of contact for sales materials requests, ensuring timely follow-up and delivery
  • Track requests and communicate updates to internal stakeholders

Reporting & Communication

  • Run and distribute weekly sales and inventory (on-hand) reports
  • Prepare and send change memos to communicate updates

Team Support

  • Provide administrative and project support to the Client Services teams
  • Contribute to additional projects and team initiatives as needed

This role will have an annual salary of $50,000.

This position is classified as remote but is tied to our New York, NY office located at 120 Broadway. Employment is subject to New York State tax withholding under applicable regulations.
