Nature & Purpose of Position
Student moderators for the EWCAT courses are ideally former EWCAT students and must receive recommendations from professors. Their job is to keep the student-led discussion focused and fair. Theirs is a facilitation role during the 4 sessions per semester. Students receive group training and one-on-one meetings with the faculty to assist them with this portion of their job.
Outside of the facilitation job, student moderators are required to provide Ms. Child (currently the faculty coordinator) with a reflection report for each session attended. These reports are fairly detailed and provide the faculty with information on each student's participation and the overall tenor of the meeting, along with the outcomes.
