Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Aerospace Logistics Manager to lead our supply chain and logistics operations within the aerospace industry. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee complex transportation, inventory management, procurement, and warehouse distribution processes. As a key driver of operational efficiency, you will ensure seamless coordination between suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to meet production schedules and delivery deadlines. Duties

  • Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain management strategies tailored to aerospace manufacturing and distribution needs.
  • Oversee warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS) to streamline inventory control, shipping & receiving, and materials handling.
  • Manage procurement activities including sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiations, and category management to secure cost-effective supplies.
  • Coordinate freight logistics with third-party logistics providers (3PL), NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), and other transportation partners to ensure timely delivery.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on supply chain disruptions or inefficiencies; lead process improvement initiatives to optimize workflow.
  • Utilize data analysis skills, SQL, and supply chain analytics tools such as Tableau to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), demand planning, inventory levels, and pricing strategies.
  • Lead warehouse distribution operations including stocking, shipping & receiving, forklift operations, and materials handling while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with production planning teams using ERP systems like SAP or AS400 to align procurement schedules with manufacturing demands.
  • Manage supplier relationships and vendor contracts to ensure quality standards are met while maintaining cost efficiencies.
  • Implement transportation planning strategies that optimize freight costs and delivery times across domestic and international channels.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in supply chain management within the aerospace or manufacturing industry with a strong understanding of logistics operations.
  • Extensive knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), ERP platforms such as SAP or AS400, and demand planning tools.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis skills including SQL and Tableau for supply chain analytics.
  • Strong negotiation skills coupled with experience in procurement, category management, and vendor management.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to materials handling equipment such as forklifts; certification preferred.
  • Ability to lead process improvement initiatives using root cause analysis techniques; experience with continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments including production planning, procurement, logistics providers, and suppliers.
