THE JOB:
As a Group Housing Supervisor, you will assist with supporting the Group Housing Specialists, and other specialty roles, in partnering with our group clients to set the stage for a successful group guest experience with your leadership, passion for service, and the ability to problem solve. By understanding each team members' unique stories and needs, you will enhance their experience by supporting and motivating the team in creating WOW moments for their respective clients, which will carry with them far beyond their event with us.
The Group Housing Supervisor works out of our off-site corporate location and with the support of Management, they support the overall experience for the Group Housing Specialist roles, including but not limited to overseeing the daily operations, job knowledge, training, coaching, and ensuring the proficient and accurate use of our systems and processes. In doing so, this allows us to create memorable experiences for our group clientele and affiliated attendees.
THE STARTING RATE:
  • $26.00 per hour

THE DAY-TO-DAY:
  • Ensure the assigned operational functions of Group Housing are consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the department, the division, and the properties we service.
  • Manage and monitor daily labor, departmental budget, operations of Group Housing, and marketing strategies to produce both short-term and long-term profitability for the company, while meeting departmental needs and objectives.
  • Manage Human Resources responsibilities for Group Housing to include: creating a work environment that creates teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction, recommendations for quality hiring that encompass the company's diversity commitment, and training.
  • Support Management in the oversight to the Room Blocks, Contracts, and Housing Specialists team, monitoring all contracted group block and pick-ups on a daily basis.
  • Attend weekly block and pick up review meetings and support the teams in ensuring we provide accurate updates of all groups, including the relaying of any historical patterns and circumstances which may negatively impact room inventory/revenue.
  • Assist in managing the daily schedule and ensuring the proper coverage within the teams, while supporting the management team with any payroll needs such as but limited to approving time off requests, monitoring the sick line, etc.
  • Oversee the departmental and team execution of the daily report distribution and key milestone activities for each group, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of our processes to best serve the business needs.
  • Maintain effective communications with the operational departments to effectively resolve any situations which may impact our guest service.
  • Attend meetings with clients and the Property staff as needed, supporting the Specialists in the liaison efforts between Sales, Convention Service Managers, and group clientele/meeting planners.
  • Support the Contracts Coordinator in the group assignment distribution to the teams, ensuring our process is fair, consistent and allows for manageable workloads.
  • Work closely with our training team in successfully supporting our onboarding process, support mentorship efforts, and develop/train the Group Housing Specialist roles in additional tasks/responsibilities to support advancement opportunities within the department and beyond.
  • Maintain complete knowledge off all hotel services/features and departmental procedures, and ensure all equipment is functioning and work areas are kept stocked, clean, and in working order.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • At least two (2) years of prior relevant experience in guest service
  • At least two (2) years of prior relevant experience using Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Prior supervisory experience at a major hotel and casino resort complex.
