The Opportunity: Grounds Maintenance Workers play a vital role in maintaining the lush and pristine appearance of our grounds. This position is integral to ensuring that our members and guests enjoy a beautiful and well-kept outdoor environment. The Grounds Maintenance Worker will work under the supervision of the Grounds Manager and collaborate with a dedicated team to uphold our commitment to excellence.

Duties and Functions:

  • Perform routine landscaping tasks, including mowing, edging, and weeding to maintain the manicured appearance of the golf course, gardens, and common areas.
  • Operate and maintain various grounds maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers, tractors, trimmers, and leaf blowers.
  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of greens, fairways, and landscape features.
  • Monitor and control pests, weeds, and diseases by applying pesticides and herbicides as necessary while adhering to safety guidelines.
  • Maintain flower beds and plantings, including seasonal planting and pruning, to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the property.
  • Safely handle and dispose of landscaping waste, including grass clippings, branches, and leaves.
  • Assist with snow removal and ice management during winter months to ensure safe access for members and guests.
  • Collaborate with the Grounds Manager to develop and implement landscaping projects and improvements.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating equipment and handling chemicals.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to members and guests by being courteous, professional, and responsive to their needs.

Qualifications Standards:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping preferred.
  • Knowledge of horticulture, plant care, and landscaping techniques.
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain grounds maintenance equipment.
  • Familiarity with irrigation systems and basic plumbing skills.
