Facilities Services Division provides quality customer service by maintaining a safe, healthy, and aesthetically pleasing environment in which students, faculty, and staff can function and accomplish their educational objectives and by supporting a patient care culture that continuously improves. Facilities Services' responsibilities include Interior and Exterior Facilities Support, Construction, Space Management, and Environmental Services.
Job Summary
Responsible for maintenance and supervision of all grounds related duties and staff required for all Augusta University Landscaping personnel in coordination with Manager and other team members.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Maintain Grounds: Performs, using proper tools with correct technique, all grounds/facility related tasks including, but not limited to, waste management, pruning, mowing, trimming, weeding, chemical application, watering, planting, pressure washing, pest control, irrigation, masonry, painting, event set-up/teardown, etc.
Supervising, Planning and Training: Assist in developing staffing plans and schedules to ensure adequate coverage for daily tasks, projects, and events.
Assist in supervising, directing, and training employees in performing grounds/facility related tasks in addition to assisting with coordinating event setup and extra duty requests.
Fill in for the campus manager when they are unavailable.
Operates Vehicles and Light Construction Equipment: Safely and correctly operates vehicles and light construction equipment including, but not limited to, golf cart, mower, street sweeper, backhoe etc.
Responsible for keeping construction equipment and vehicles in good condition, which includes cleaning and regular maintenance checks.
Maintains Grounds Equipment: Ensures all grounds equipment is regularly cleaned, maintained, and replaced as needed in coordination with department mechanic and supervisor.
Responsible for maintaining adequate documentation on equipment care.
Provide time and labor accounting: Provide team labor time accounting utilizing a computer-based Facilities tracking program.
Other Duties: Perform any other related duties and assignments as instructed by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accredited organization with seven (7) years of experience in grounds maintenance work. Valid driver's license required.

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with (7) seven or more years of experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance and supervision

Ability to perform heavy manual labor under all conditions.
Ability to operate and maintain grounds equipment.

Must be able to work well with others, must possess ability to make decisions independently on routine assignments.
Must be able to work independently but also part of team.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions

Salary : $21.83/hourly - $24.09/hour
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
