Job description

About the Role:

As a CBRE – Government & Defense Services Cleaning Supervisor, you will supervise staff responsible for ensuring a clean, orderly, and safe environment for employees and clients across multiple locations. This role includes direct oversight of five remote sites with a mix of hourly employees and custodial lead roles, as well as oversight of grounds-related services completed by onsite staff. This job is part of the Cleaning Services function and is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and overall presentation of client and company facilities, both interior and exterior.

What You’ll Do:

  • Coordinate and manage the team’s daily activities across assigned onsite and remote locations. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff, including hourly employees and custodial leads.
  • Provide operational and performance oversight for up to five remote sites, ensuring consistency in service delivery, staffing coverage, and adherence to company standards.
  • Schedule daily staff meetings and required in-service training sessions, including virtual engagement with remote site leadership and staff.
  • Check cleaning equipment condition. Order cleaning supplies as needed supporting multiple locations. Ensure supplies are stored in a safe and secure area at all times.
  • Coordinate and liaise with clients, site leadership, and employees across all assigned locations. Handle complaints, escalations, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
  • Inform teams of service requests and confirm completion. Inspect work performed by cleaners and custodial leads and submit daily or periodic cleanliness and performance reports.
  • Initiate and deliver regular training on procedures for the safe and effective use of chemical cleaners.
  • Ensure standardized cleaning processes meet company standards consistently across all sites.
  • Provide daily cleaning support to private or sensitive areas of buildings as designated.
  • Oversee grounds-related tasks, ensuring onsite staff complete exterior services such as litter removal, walkway maintenance, entryway appearance, and general site cleanliness in accordance with contract and safety standards.
  • Monitor work quality for both interior cleaning and exterior grounds services, identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Resolve complex operational issues and identify appropriate approaches to existing solutions to accomplish team and site objectives.
  • May establish new techniques or workflows to ensure teams are able to meet performance, safety, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Has a direct impact on team objectives as well as the objectives of related teams and supported sites.
  • Ensure personal and team outcomes positively impact customer objectives, service levels, and compliance requirements.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE GDS values. Guide teams through the application of standard practices and procedures while working to build consensus across onsite and remote teams.

What You’ll Need:

  • US Citizenship is REQUIRED
  • High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years of job-related experience. Prior shift manager, multi-site, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to fulfill the physical requirements associated with this role, including stooping, standing, walking, and climbing stairs. Must be able to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • In-depth understanding of processes, procedures, systems, and concepts within the cleaning services function, with basic knowledge of related job functions.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts or sensitive information clearly and professionally.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a master-level inquisitive mindset.
  • Exceptional math skills with the ability to calculate sophisticated figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
