About Us:
Thornton’s Tree Service is a reputable provider of professional tree care solutions throughout West Texas. With a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service to our clients. As we continue to grow, we are seeking dedicated individuals to join our crew as Ground Hands.
Job Duties:
The Ground Hand plays a vital role in supporting our tree crew leads by performing various tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Dragging limbs, chipping limbs, raking, and operating blowers.
  • Utilizing power equipment such as mini skid loaders and running the chipper.
  • Maintaining equipment by filling up saws and ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Additional responsibilities may include splitting wood at our firewood lot during slower periods.
  • This role requires physical stamina, including bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting.

Working Conditions: This position entails working in environments that may be loud, dirty, and subject to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wet, or dry conditions.
Job Details & Qualifications:
  • Consistency and punctuality are essential; candidates must demonstrate a reliable attendance record.
  • All candidates will undergo a background check as part of the hiring process.
  • Opportunities for overtime pay at time and a half may be available on a weekly basis.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to collaborate effectively with team members are highly valued.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • No parole or probation reporting.
