Role Purpose Statement

This is a highly visible, hands on leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, engaging with teams, and solving real time operational challenges. As a Transportation Operations Supervisor, you’ll be tasked with overseeing and coordinating all ground-level activities related to aircraft catering and loading, actively monitoring performance and safety, and leading by example to foster accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. 


The ideal candidate thrives in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environments, has 2 years of progressive leadership in Distribution/Logistics, is experienced in managing union and/hourly workforces and has proficiency with work force management scheduling and reporting tools, along with basic Microsoft Office skills.  

We are a 24/7 facility-You must have flexibility to work potential schedules:
3:00AM – 11:30AM
9:00AM – 5:30PM
11:00AM - 7:30PM
7:00PM – 3:30AM

Main Accountabilities

Supervisor Responsibility

•    Oversees daily ramp operations, including loading and unloading of catering equipment and supplies.
•    Manages ramp personnel, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
•    Ensures compliance with all safety regulations, including OSHA, FAA, and TSA guidelines.
•    Conducts regular safety inspections and training sessions.
•    Coordinates with flight operations and catering teams to ensure timely and accurate loading of aircraft.
•    Monitors and optimizes ramp efficiency, including equipment utilization and workflow.
•    Resolves operational issues and problems in a timely and effective manner.
•    Maintains accurate records and reports on ramp activities and performance metrics.
•    Collaborates with other departments to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction and other duties as deemed necessary

Leadership

  • Guide, motivate and develop staff within the Human Resources policies
  • Make the company's values and management principles live in the department(s)
  • Manage productivity hours and costs in the area of responsibility; initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations
  • Participate and support company sponsored initiatives such as Quality, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety and Production systems
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

•    Previous experience in ramp operations, distribution, logistics or a related field.
•    Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
•    In-depth knowledge of aviation safety regulations and procedures.
•    Excellent organizational and time management skills.
•    Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
•    Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
•    Valid driver's license and ability to operate ground service equipment.

Highly Preferred Skills:
•    Previous airline catering or aviation logistics
•    Experience with labor control and forecasting
•    Strong incident reporting, compliance, and documentation skills
