Job description

The Video Engineer position is responsible for all video and audio engineering support of live events, including shading of cameras, routing video/audio sources throughout the facility and technical setup of the production.


  • Prepare cameras required for live broadcasts in a sports environment, including multi camera shading;
  • Trouble shoot technical issues that occur, and correct or create a “work around” during productions;
  • Operate extensive video/audio routing system, as well as “Multiview” system;
  • Ensure all sources are within SMPTE standards and are performing at optimal levels;
  • Act as final stop for approval in all set-up and pre-set checks for each video production, acting as Video EIC during events and games;
  • Assist the team within managing the camera equipment inventory, identify needs for parts and/or maintenance needed, and being proactive in requesting assistance;
  • Other related duties as needed.

  • High School Diploma or GED completed.
  • Two (2) years’ or more experience working in a live broadcast environment, including live TV, sports broadcast, or live in-arena sports events and promotions, or the equivalent college experience pursing a degree in Communications, Broadcast/TV, or Multi-Media Production.
  • Thorough understanding of new signal technologies & required cross format conversion.
  • Familiarity with Ross Aquity, Advocent KVM's network, Evertz Routing System and Dream Catcher Replay systems. 
  • Able to perform in a fast, high-pressure environment and trouble shoot quickly.
  • Able to establish effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts.
  • Must have strong leadership skills as well as excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong planning and organization skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines,
  • Proficiency with MicroSoft Office.
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, particularly during game season.

Nice to Have:

  • College Degree in Communications, Broadcast/TV or Multi-Media production.
  • SBE Certification.
  • Strong knowledge of broadcast as well as multicast guidelines and operations within a production environment.
  • Minimum 5 years in set up live TV broadcast, sports broadcast or live in arena sporting events and production.
  • Sony, Grass Valley, or Ikegami certification in Digital imaging.
  • Knowledge and passion for NBA basketball.
