What are Grizzlies?

Grizzlies, also known as grizzly bears, are a subspecies of brown bear native to North America. They are large mammals recognized for their distinctive hump on their shoulders, powerful build, and thick fur. Grizzlies play a vital role in their ecosystems as apex predators and scavengers, helping to maintain the balance of wildlife populations. They are typically found in forests, alpine meadows, and mountain regions, especially in Alaska, western Canada, and parts of the northwestern United States. Conservation efforts are in place to protect grizzlies due to past population declines from hunting and habitat loss.
