Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) – Remote Montana Therapy Job

Job Summary

We are seeking a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to provide remote therapy services to clients in Montana. This position involves working with individuals, couples, and families who are facing challenges related to relationships, family stress, communication, emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, grief, and major life changes.

The LMFT will conduct virtual sessions, complete assessments, create treatment plans, document care, and help clients make meaningful progress toward their clinical and personal goals. This is a full-time telehealth role for a licensed therapist who is organized, professional, and comfortable providing care in a remote environment.

Salary: $115,000–$120,000 per year with full benefits
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Primary Duties

  • Deliver telehealth therapy services to individuals, couples, and families
  • Complete clinical intakes and assess presenting concerns, symptoms, history, and relationship patterns
  • Create treatment plans with appropriate clinical goals and interventions
  • Provide therapy for family conflict, relationship stress, communication concerns, parenting issues, anxiety, depression, grief, and adjustment concerns
  • Support clients in developing healthier communication, coping skills, boundaries, and emotional awareness
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record
  • Monitor client progress and revise care plans when needed
  • Follow professional, ethical, and legal standards for therapy practice
  • Maintain HIPAA-compliant telehealth practices
  • Identify when clients may need referrals, crisis support, or higher levels of care

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Psychology, or a related clinical field
  • Active Montana LMFT license in good standing
  • Experience providing therapy to individuals, couples, and/or families
  • Strong knowledge of family systems, relationship dynamics, assessment, and treatment planning
  • Comfortable providing services through telehealth platforms
  • Ability to maintain professional documentation and manage a full-time caseload
  • Reliable internet connection and private workspace for confidential sessions
  • Experience with electronic health records preferred
