Job description

Seeking board-certified/board-eligible Neurologist with experience and/or training in stroke or vascular neurology for program in Sioux Falls, SD.

  • This is a full-time, salary supported position.
  • You will serve as a staff neurohospitalist providing neuro consultation only. Admission and primary medical management is provided by general hospitalist. Will also be responsible for providing neuro management of patients throughout the hospital.
  • You will be part of a Comprehensive stroke team consisting of neurointerventional, neurointensivist, skilled nursing and certified hospitalists.
  • Our neuroscience team consists of three neurointensivists, three neurohospitalists, one neurointerventionalist, six neurosurgeons, six neurologists, five physiatrists and advanced practice providers.
  • You will additionally be able to participate in neurohospitalist practice efficiencies, quality improvement programs, and educational activities for medical students, residents, nurses, and allied health professionals who provide care .

Neurological care services include: a 28-bed medical & surgical ICU, 8-bed dedicated neuro ICU, 8-bed high acuity unit, a 12-bed neuroscience intermediate unit, designated outpatient neurological diagnostic center, designated video EEG-monitored beds, and a sleep diagnostic center (AASM accredited). The unit supports all aspects of care for critically-ill patients with primary neurological disorders.

Sioux Falls offers a diverse blend of manufacturing, banking, financial industries, medical services, transportation, communications, and wholesale/retail trade for service and business opportunities. The trails are maintained for year-round outdoor enjoyment. Amenities in the parks include picnic areas, playgrounds, flower gardens, a Japanese Garden, fishing areas, sports fields, tennis courts, and swimming pools. Soccer and hockey are especially popular and are played on 29 soccer fields, nine skating rinks, and two hockey rinks. Sioux Falls offers 2 private and 5 public golf courses and features over 30 courses, which are located within a 45-minute drive. Also a regional sporting hub, Sioux Falls is host to professional teams: the Skyforce basketball team, the Canaries baseball team, the Storm indoor football team, the Stampede hockey team, and the Spitfire soccer team. The Avera Sports Institute is leading the way by providing comprehensive sports training, rehabilitation and enhancement programs in a 40,000 square foot year-round athletic training center.
