What is a Great Flexible?

'Great Flexible' jobs refer to positions that offer significant flexibility in terms of work hours, location, or both. These jobs typically allow employees to set their own schedules, work remotely, or choose part-time or freelance arrangements, making them ideal for individuals seeking better work-life balance. Examples include remote customer service roles, freelance writing, consulting, and tech jobs with flexible hours. The level of flexibility can vary depending on the employer and the specific job requirements.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Great Flexible employee, and why are they important?

To succeed as a Great Flexible employee, you generally need adaptability, strong time management, and the ability to quickly learn new tasks or roles. Familiarity with various productivity tools or project management systems, such as Slack, Trello, or Microsoft Office, is often beneficial. Excellent communication, a proactive attitude, and strong problem-solving abilities help individuals stand out in this dynamic position. These skills ensure effective contributions, smooth collaboration, and the ability to excel in changing work environments.

What are some common challenges professionals face when working in flexible or remote roles?

One common challenge in flexible or remote roles is maintaining clear communication and collaboration with team members who may be working different hours or from various locations. It can also be difficult to set boundaries between work and personal life, making time management and self-discipline essential skills. Additionally, professionals may need to proactively seek feedback and networking opportunities to stay engaged and visible within the organization. However, many find that with the right tools and habits, these challenges become manageable and can lead to a rewarding, balanced work experience.

About Great Clips

Sourced by ZipRecruiter

Great Clips, Inc. was established in Minneapolis, Minnesota by founders David Rubenzer and Steve Lemmon in 1982, a time when most people received haircuts in one of three ways: in full-service hair salons, from barbershops or at home. As a stylist and businessman, David could see that the industry was changing. Customers were looking for a hair salon service that could fit their busy lifestyles and desire for value. To be part of that change – rather than find themselves competing with it – David and Steve developed the then-radical concept of a walk-in haircare salon with weekend and evening hours, offering customers a select list of services, and providing benefits for stylists. After the founders opened several successful hair salons, Ray Barton joined David and Steve as an owner in March 1983. With Ray's help and expertise in franchising, the trio set about growing the Great Clips hair salon brand. That success continues through today.
