Description

Pennington Seed is searching for an experienced Supervisor for our Greenfield, Missouri location.  This position requires qualified candidates to be safety conscious and able to perform required functions in a productive manner, working with tight schedules and deadlines.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS

  • Assess the quality of rough seed being cleaned and adjust machinery accordingly.
  • Run frequent tests on clean seed to verify that all machinery is properly adjusted.
  • Direct the workflow of other employees to ensure that the product produced is correct and of good quality.
  • Repair or report machine problems immediately.
  • Work closely with the coating operators to maintain quality standards of powder coated seed.
  • Maintain a safe work environment as well as directing all staff to work safely and effectively.
  • Properly train staff, enabling them to perform their assigned work tasks for the shift.

IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES

  • Keep the work area clean and seed swept up throughout your shift.
  • Work in a safe manner following company safety standards.
  • Lock out machines before doing any maintenance/repairs.
  • Repair or report any machine problems as soon as possible.
  • Must be able to lift/pull up to 70 pounds.
  • Must complete seed training from the quality lab.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Must possess good leadership qualities and the ability to direct staff as necessary to meet production goals for the shift.
  • Must obtain a forklift certification and complete in-house skid loader training.
  • Be able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Work temperatures may vary due to outside temperatures. 
  • The work environment may be dusty.
