Job description

Graphic Information Systems (GIS) specializes in warehouse inventory control solutions, including the design, creation, and installation of labeling and signage systems for major distribution centers throughout North America.
Industrial Engineering Intern supports process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives. This role offers hands-on experience in analyzing workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing solutions that enhance productivity and reduce waste. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to meaningful, real-world projects.
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze current operational and production processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement
  • Assist in conducting time studies, workflow mapping, and data collection
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives
  • Develop and document standard work procedures and process flows
  • Create visual management tools and performance dashboards
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams on improvement projects
  • Track and report key performance metrics using Excel or similar tools
  • Participate in continuous improvement events such as Kaizen and 5S activities
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
