POSITION SUMMARY:
The Graphic Designer will play a pivotal role at Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida, focusing on brand management and the creation of engaging digital and print designs. This position will involve developing compelling concepts and campaigns, as well as completing photography and videography projects to enhance our visual storytelling. The Graphic Designer will also contribute to the design of user-friendly web pages that reflect our brand identity and support brand audiences. With a strong emphasis on creativity and technical proficiency, this role is essential for elevating our brand profile and delivering high-quality visual content across various platforms.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Brand Management: Ensure consistent application of brand guidelines across all materials and platforms. Develop and refine brand assets as needed
  • Digital and Print Design: Create engaging designs for both digital platforms (social media, email marketing, web banners, etc.) and print materials (brochures, posters, programs, etc.)
  • Concept and Campaign Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and execute creative campaigns that align with organizational goal
  • Photography and Videography: Capture and edit high-quality photos and videos for various marketing and communication purposes
  • Web Page Development: Build user-friendly and visually appealing web pages
  • Project Management: Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and budget constraints while maintaining high-quality standards

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, Education, Experience & Skills)

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design software, including the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Basic coding knowledge (HTML, CSS)
  • Strong visual communication abilities, understanding of design principles, color theory, typography, and layout
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for the Boys & Girls Clubs mission and youth development
  • An associateโ€™s degree in graphic design, visual arts, or a related field (preferred)
  • Experience with project management software (preferred)
  • Video editing knowledge (preferred)

Relationships

  • Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/ instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
  • External: Maintains contact with members, families, alumni, community leaders, youth-serving professionals, other Clubs, media contacts, vendors, consultants, organizations, and others to achieve program goals and objectives, manage costs, share information, and resolve problems.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • The position requires working in both indoor and outdoor environments of an office or club setting, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and policy manuals.
  • Required to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Work in environments frequented by children and families, requiring adherence to safety and conduct standards that ensure a child-friendly and family-oriented atmosphere.
  • Must be adaptable to a dynamic work schedule, including some evenings to support club activities and events.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically capable of performing programming activities and club duties on-site, including lifting up to 30 pounds, standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, bending, and reaching.
  • Operates a computer and other office productivity equipment such as a copy machine, phone, printer, and tablet frequently. Requires the ability to work on a computer for extended periods (8+ hours), including performing tasks that involve repetitive motion, visual focus, and fine motor skills
  • Visual and auditory acuity to monitor the environment and ensure safety standards are maintained.
  • Mental resilience and the ability to stay focused and effective in a busy, sometimes noisy environment.
  • Capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with children, family members, and other staff.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions (occasionally).
