Job description

About Gap

Gap has always been about optimistic American style. Starting with our very first store on Ocean Avenue in San Francisco, opened almost 50 years ago by Doris and Don Fisher. The thread that’s run through those five decades is the phenomenal people that make up our brand – our employees and our customers. People who are rooted in the legacy that makes Gap what it is, but who are also focused on the future. People who want to leave the world better than they found it.

We’ve built our brand on staying true to our roots while always being out in front of what’s next. If you want to be part of an iconic American brand, and help lead the way for where we’re headed, we’d love to have you join us.

About the role

As a Gap Senior Graphic Designer for Men's and International, you will partner with design and merchandising to create refined, culturally informed graphic expressions. This role is grounded in thoughtful research, elevated graphic execution, meticulous production, and the development of compelling presentations, supported by strong cross-functional collaboration.

What you'll do
  • Design on-trend apparel graphics that support Gap’s seasonal narratives and align with divisional design direction.
  • Research and interpret seasonal graphic and cultural trends through market, retail, and broader creative exploration; synthesize insights into clear, compelling concept boards for cross-functional teams.
  • Execute within seasonal concepts, balancing creative intent with merchant strategies, cost considerations, and customer insights.
  • Manage workload independently, demonstrating strong prioritization and attention to detail across multiple workstreams.
  • Take ownership of a specialized category within the division, contributing to creative development and presenting work to graphics leadership.
  • Develop and maintain graphic presentation boards for key milestone meetings.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline workflow and improve process efficiency.
  • Introduce newness through thoughtful application of trend insights, graphic techniques, and executional approaches.
  • Prepare and maintain production-ready artwork files in alignment with seasonal timelines and production requirements.
  • Review production samples to ensure quality, accuracy, and integrity of design execution.
  • Present design work to cross-functional partners during product reviews with clarity and confidence.
Who you are

Key Experience

  • BA in Graphic Design or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6–10 years of experience in apparel graphics, with a strong portfolio demonstrating concept through production.
  • Deep knowledge of graphic production processes, including print techniques and apparel-specific applications.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with working knowledge of tools such as Miro and Clo.
  • Highly developed illustration and hand skills, with the ability to translate concepts into compelling visual executions.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with autonomy while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience contributing to or leading within a category or workstream.
  • Working knowledge of budget considerations and cost-conscious design execution.
  • Refined sensibility for typography, composition, and image-making.

Qualifications

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, creatively driven environment, with the ability to adapt to evolving priorities.
  • Demonstrates a thoughtful, solutions-oriented approach to design challenges and problem-solving.
  • Open to feedback and collaboration, with a commitment to continuous growth and refinement of craft.
  • Strong interpersonal presence, with the ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively across teams.
  • Maintains a high standard of quality and attention to detail across all aspects of work.
  • Approaches work with curiosity, initiative, and a strong sense of ownership.
