Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for a Production Graphic Artist for a well-established graphics and printing company in Modesto. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced graphic artist with a strong background in Adobe Illustrator and print production.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of working in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
Schedule
  • Full-Time
  • 40-45 hours per week
  • Occasional overtime as needed

Pay
  • $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
  • Depending on experience

Position Summary
The Production Graphic Artist is responsible for preparing customer artwork for flexographic printing plate production. This role involves assembling graphics and text, preparing print-ready files, creating supporting documents, performing quality checks, and collaborating with customer service to resolve artwork-related issues.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare and modify customer artwork for flexographic printing plate production.
  • Assemble graphics, text, and design elements according to customer specifications.
  • Create accurate production files and color proofs.
  • Set up files for the appropriate printing press, including distortion, imposition, trapping, and other print requirements.
  • Review artwork for accuracy, quality, grammar, typesetting, color, and design consistency.
  • Perform quality checks on completed work to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with customer service and sales teams regarding artwork questions and revisions.
  • Troubleshoot file issues and resolve production concerns.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and job records.
  • Manage multiple projects while meeting production deadlines.
  • Provide support and assistance on additional projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of graphic design experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator.
  • Experience using Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience working in a MAC-based operating environment.
  • Excellent proofreading and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Adobe Creative Suite experience.
  • Adobe Photoshop experience.
  • Experience with RIP software.
  • Experience with preflight software.
  • Knowledge of flexographic printing processes.
  • Understanding of file trapping, distortion, color management, and print production requirements.
  • Experience working with customer-supplied artwork and print-ready files.
  • Proficiency in Outlook and Excel.
